Vocal workshop on the perception and creative processes of sound, space, spirit and song. Lauren Newton works with participants from her background in jazz, free improvisation and contemporary music to include extended vocal techniques that go beyond just singing. The aspects explored during this musical adventure include individual and collective sound, pure tone, noise, melody, fragments of spoken language, rhythmic aspects, silence, space and unexpected moments. By improvising in unconventional working methods, participants' perception of music becomes clearer and acquires deeper meaning for them and the audience. With the musical moment as a guide, creativity is unleashed and the vocal cosmos is experienced in a new way.
This training can be paid for by your OPCO (AFDAS, UNIFORMATION, FONGECIF...) or your employer (City, Conservatory...), as part of your rights to continuing education. A few places are available for individual funding, at a reduced rate.
